Random Things I Like

So I decided I'm going to start making a list of things that I like, and try to updated it as much as possible. Not things like family and friends, because that is obvious that I like them because I love them. But a list of random things that I love to do that equal me. Not just the typical "I like soccer, traveling, etc." or obvious things that my friends could list, but really specific things. Things many people don't get to see. Here it is (in very random order):
  • Rolling around on a large bed (No, get your mind out of the gutter. Like when your home after a long day, and all you want to do is sleep. Just rip the covers off and roll around on it...it feels great! This can also be done when arriving at hotel, though not as satisfying since it is usually the opposite of how you like your mattress, ie firm or soft.).
  • Cranking up the music and singing in the car with no passengers. Enough said.
  • The rush of doing something that you would normally not do. Things that bring you back to childhood. Things such as playing in the rain, chase and tag, jumping in puddles, sticking out your tongue, building sandcastles, water fights, etc. the list goes on...
  • Meeting new people. But not just anybody. Somebody where you really feel a strange and amazing connection to the moment you meet. Not in a boy/girl way, but in a simple relating with someone way. You have some unique draw towards that person and you can't really put words to it other than you feel like you have known them forever and that they completely understand you. And it happens more than you think. Standing in line at the grocery store, out on the soccer field; even in a bar. It happens. And though you may never see that person again, for those brief moments (or long moments), you were so excited because you felt connected.
  • Starting something new. Usually people are afraid of change, but lately I have noticed that I get the most enthusiastic about life when things are new. New cities, new jobs, new teams, new hobbies, new books, new projects, new games. Whatever it may be, I enjoy the changes in life.
  • Cooking a big dinner for or with friends. It is just so satisfying. One summer, my best friends and I made a 3 - 4 course meal every Wednesday night and then watched Project Runway together. Definitely one of the best summers ever. Another time, for a friend's birthday, we all made dinner together. The catch, everything had to be homemade. So we had homemade pasta, pizza, etc. Everything was from scratch. It was a huge mess to clean up but so totally worth it. I miss events like that.

To be continued...
